- Buy Car
Select car needed and pay for it.
Complete the car buying form included with the car registration form.
Have the owner sign the seller portion while buyer signs buyer portion.
Seller then gets a copy of the the buying/selling form.
Buyer keeps their own copy as well.
Once paid, Seller can get the plate.
Make sure there’s enough fuel left in the tank before removing the plate.
It may be necessary to drive the car around for requirements mentioned below.
- Get UVIP (Used Vehicle Information Package)
This actually should come with the car you bought but most used car sellers are not even aware of this.
Depending on negotiation with previous owner, either of you have to pay for UVIP.
Strictly speaking, previous owner should provide the UVIP to sell the car legally.
In case it was not provided, you can pay for it later when you register the car.
UVIP contains the ESM (Estimated Market Value) of the car you bought.
Said ESM will be the basis for the tax you have to pay, which is I believe 13% of ESM.
If you bought a car at much lower cost than the estimated market value, you need an appraisal letter.
Appraisal service is also available online.
- Buy Insurance
This could only be finalized once you have the VIN (Vehicle Information Number).
You may have quotes before buying, that is if you have idea of car model you plan to buy.
The amount needed largely depend on where you live.
Unfortunately for yours truly, we pay the highest rate in the world.
Oh by the way, your first payment is double to cover both first and last payments.
And from what I heard, if you cancel before finishing a year, you’ll be penalized by paying yet another month.
Copy of your Proof of Insurance will be snail mailed once payment is made.
- Have Safety Check
With the registration form and proof of insurance, find a car shop that does safety check.
Your car have to pass the safety check, repairs have to be done as needed.
Safety Certificate is issued once the car passes the safety checks.
- Have Emission Test (if needed)
Emission Test has to be done, depending on car model you bought.
Again, repairs have to be done if required.
Emission Clearance will be issued once it passes the test.
If you have hybrid or electric car, emission test will not be required.
- Go to Service Ontario for registration
Bring all the papers to Service Ontario, along with your IDs.
ID should contain your address and signature, a driver’s license would be fine.
After signing documents and paying, car plate with sticker will be issued.
Following are the documents needed:
- Registration with filled and signed Buy/Sell Form
- UVIP (if not provided, you can pay for it as you register)
- Safety Certificate
- Emission Test (if needed)
- Appraisal Letter (if needed)
Car plate issued will be taken sequentially from the centre’s stock.
“Vanity” plates are also available by paying the price accordingly.
Option: NEW CAR
- Go to the dealer, pick your car, provided the documentation requirements and pay
- You will be guided thru the necessary process to complete the registration
Designed to be quick and easy.
Turned out there really are lots of details to cope with.
Oh well, I believe this is still a better alternative than the manual that came with the drone.
FIRST FLIGHT – Controller
- Remove Drone Battery
- Squeeze the two flaps in the middle of the battery
- Pull the battery out
- Plug the included USB cable into the USB port
- Plug the other end to the battery
- Charger lights up while charging
- The battery is fully charged when the light turns off
- Put to the drone its fully-charged battery
- Open remote controller, bit tricky but the idea is push top forward, bottom backward
- Put two AAA batteries to the remote controller and close it
- Pull out 4 propellers
- Press the drone power button, lights will turn on and flicker
- Turn the remote controller on, you will hear a beep
- Long press the right button, release when you hear a beep
- Press up the remote controller’s joystick then press down
- You will hear double beep and the drone’s light steadies
- Press the joystick down
- Drone propellers start but stays on the ground
- Orient the drone such that power button is close to you and the camera is in front
- Hold the controller steady
- Gently push the joystick up to move the drone upwards
Go easy on this on your first try, takes some practice to gain full control
- Release the joystick to hover or stop
Try to keep the controller steady or gently move left or right
- Gently push the joystick down to move the drone downwards
- Press the down button to stop the drone and land
Make sure drone is low enough, otherwise it could be a destructive drop
Quite a tough drone though, doesn’t seem to mind bumps and drops
FIRST FLIGHT – Smartphone App
The idea is that you turn on the controllers, the arrows and the up-arrow to get the engine running.
Once the propeller starts, use the altitude and direction controllers to fly the drone.
Details as follow:
Process after running the app would be:
- Turn drone on
- Connect app with the drone
- Turn controller ON or OFF
- Turn power controller ON or OFF
- Turn on drone
- Fly up by sliding left controller up
- Go forward/backward/left or right by sliding right controller up/down/left or right
- Beginners need to get familiar with the STOP button for emergency stop

OTHER IMPORTANT CONTROLS
- Headless Mode
This is so you can easily take selfies.
The drone flies in specific position regardless of where the camera is.
Steps as follow:
- Tap the settings Gear Icon to pop-up sub-menu
- Tap the NEWS Compass icon to activate headless mode
- Install and run the app
- Connect smartphone to drone
- Tap photo or video to take them
- Lights are controlled only by the handheld controller, app can’t turn it off to save battery life
- Camera recording are controlled only by app, not by controller
I flew my drone in the open field with nearby trees.
Seemed to have lost control of altitude so I press the STOP button while it is still up like 20′ high.
Dropped on concrete pavement with one of the propeller first.
Notice afterwards that one propeller runs randomly, until it finally won’t turn on.
Drone can’t be controlled with just 3 propellers running.
Dismantled and tried to fix but it seems the engine is broken.
At least was able to salvage the camera.
