DESCRIPTION:

Butter & Cup Cafe is in the corner of Dougall Avenue and Kennedy Road, just across the Southfields Community Center of Caledon, Ontario, Canada. It got indoor and outdoor sittings. They have delicious scones that I’ve only heard of from here. I enjoyed a bit of spicy taste of their scone, I’m not sure if there’s a no-spice option. If you visit this place scone is a must have. Bon appetit!

NOTES:

Redundant Google Maps Virtual Tour link added here in the standard instructions. This is so we’ll be able to see the tour in the event bug(s) prohibits proper display. I think that was the case last 2023 late-October to mid-November, when only map of the world shows instead of the usual virtual tour. If that happens again, please try the link; last time I checked right after publishing this post, it displayed the virtual tour in Google Maps.

Southfields Virtual Walkaround
A guided tour of the Community Center in regular video of vertical orientation. Starts from the big sign post outside with quick glance of I think a bike repair mini-station nearby. Then walks in looking around, got into the swimming pool showing few safety signs (you can pause video for further read); Oh, you’ve to remove your shoes to get in the pool area. You’ll see staffs in sleeveless uniform too, makes you wonder if you’re in warm jacket from cold weather outside. Turns out, it’s warm inside, I believe so are the pool water. Continued walking to the rest of the halls inside, then outside to the rear side where the parking lots are and finally to the chess tables area. They have EV charging stations here too. DESCRIPTION:

Oakville Lakeside Park thumbnail

Wonderful view of the lake reflecting the colorful trees and the clouds on this sunshiny cloudy mid-autumn day. There’s also view of the lake and the rest of the park from the center of the Bandstand pavillion, showing as well the “accessible” public washroom. Checkout too the William Andrew Ferrah Memorial and the Spiderman’s web in the playground :)

Enjoy!

RELATED VIRTUAL TOURS:

Oakville Lakeside Park Lighthouse
Shows the closer view of the lake from the Towarf building intersection through the footpath to the lighthouse. Great drone-ish view of the cloudy daylight and the lighthouse, showing its accessibility for people of all ages to enjoy. Oakville Lakeside Park Museum thumbnail

Oakville Museum
An excellent Virtual Tour, done I guess by their officials. Starts from the outside with this link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/FPPPbMjBo9ie57xn8 and you can virtually go inside, roam around the museum and see its artifacts. I believe that’s a souvenir shop that you’ll see first, which would be nice if you want some souvenirs; you can then proceed inside till the upper floor.

YOUTUBE VIDEO:

A minute fast-paced “walk to the beat” from lighthouse to the other end of the park. Some views of our small world on a colorful autumn ambiance :)
Passes by few ducks splashing away; then the boats mostly docked (none of which is mine); and the people enjoying the park with us on that beautiful day – literally a walk in the park :)
Cheers!

NOTES:

That rocky end was where I saw a fox, many years back – on a shiny “Red Moon” night. Also according to Google Maps, those rocks are the boundary of the park; that could mean that that stretch of shore after the rocks could be private property…

DESCRIPTION:

Oakville Lakeside Park Lighthouse thumbnail

Walk from Towarf Marine Rescue building to the lighthouse and to the daylight on my first day with my Insta360 X3 :) Beautiful cloudy sunshiny day with just the perfect temperature for me at around 21 degrees centigrade. This was the highlight of our trip. Continued walking here after enjoying the other end of the park passing by the loo with accessibility facilities, the Bandstand pavilion, the William Andrew Ferrah Memorial and the playground. On such a beautiful mid-autumn bright day, reminds me of my Master saying:

I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
John 8:12 NIV

Blessings!

TECHNICAL DETAILS FOR FELLOW GEEKS:

GPS data still didn’t work with X3 :(
I thought it can just use my phone’s GPS – nope. I guess I need another gadget just for GPS so blue lines could be added to Google Maps instead of just blue dots. Oh well, hopefully will get that figured out in the future. The quest for blue lines continues…

Pictures taken not in sequence :(
I spent time sorting photos before processing this virtual tour. It’s quicker that way, than to figure out their sequence when connecting on the virtual tour software. Best of course is planning where to take photos and shoot them in sequence. Looking forward to better photoshoots soon as I get more familiarized with X3 and places.

Great app and online community
I got X3 mainly for videos but photo quality looks good too. Where Insta360 X3 really shines is in its mobile video editing apps that integrates well with their community forum. Their “Activities” reward system gives away virtual “golds” that can be used for discounts from their products. Also got some freebies from contests, n contributing photos/videos/knowhow to its online global community. Great job there – Cheers!
